LET’S PLAY WITH MITOS!
A BOOK FOR CHILDREN TO DISCOVER MITOCHONDRIA
Why a children book to introduce the role of Mitochondria in Cancer? Because it helps to explain key concepts in a fun and interactive way, thus kids can embrace science without thinking about it.
Ana, Catarina, Christina, Daniela, Floriana, Houda, Luca, Maheshwor, Nicole, Nikkitha and Saharnaz study mitochondria, the “power house” of the cell. What is a mitochondrion? How does it work? What happens to unhealthy mitochondria? Our young readers will find the answers in this booklet, while enjoying the interactive activities proposed in it. Moreover, they will meet the TRANSMIT young scientists and get to know how they play with Science all around Europe. We believe science should be inspiring and exciting. TRANSMIT is funded within the frame of the H2020 MARIE CURIE ITN and is a multi-partner project with beneficiaries from 7 different countries. We come from all over the world and we work in the field of cancer research.
This booklet is dedicated to all children and adults who suffer from the unpleasant disease called cancer and also to all the people involved or simply interested in learning something more about it.
Please read, colour and play with this book together with your child. We hope that this booklet will help you and your children to better understand the role of mitochondria in cancer.
Welcome to our world and enjoy your adventure with your new friend Mito!
